I am a registered psychologist with 12 years of experience. I have a special interest in child and adolescent issues, such as anxiety, depression, social and communication issues, trauma, bullying and sleep disturbances. I have worked with children from as young as three years of age up until late adolesence, in a variety of settings. I began my career in an early childhood centre for children at risk of social and emotional development, where I conducted play therapy sessions with children and parent-child interaction playgroups involving the families. I have worked extensively both individually and in groups for children over 5 years of age and adolescents, in community health settings, for example, at WAYS, Waverly Community Health Centre and JewishCare. More recently, I was the child adolescent psychologist at STARTTS, and organisation that provides counselling and rehabilitation services for refugees who have experienced trauma. I ran art groups, anxiety/ depression groups within schools, and conducted one to one sessions with young people, as well as providing training on trauma to schools and other professional organisations. I have been working in a busy medical practice since 2007 until present with adults, couples and adolescents with a variety of mental health issues. I am thrilled to have joined Renee Mill's private practice part-time. I know my skill set will benefit children in the private sector and will complement the other therapies offered in the practice. |
